City Electric Aggregation Program

Electric Aggregation Rates

Residential & Commercial rates vary by electric utility provider:

• AEP Ohio (Ohio Power): $0.1067/kWh (fixed rate through December 2027)
• Toledo Edison: $0.0996/kWh (fixed rate through December 2027)

Community Electric Aggregation Program

The City of Fremont has partnered with Dynegy to provide residents and small businesses with a Community Electric Aggregation program. This program allows the City to combine purchasing power to secure competitively priced electricity for participants.

Fremont currently offers aggregation programs for customers of both AEP Ohio (Ohio Power) and Toledo Edison.

During the opt-out period, eligible residents and small businesses are automatically enrolled in the program unless they choose to opt out. There is no cost to participate, no switching fee, and no early termination fee.

As part of the program:

• Your electric utility (AEP Ohio or Toledo Edison) will continue to deliver your electricity, maintain infrastructure, and respond to outages.
• You will continue to receive one bill from your utility, which will include Dynegy’s supply charges.
• The rate you receive is fixed for the duration of the program term.

If you are not part of the program and wish to join, you may contact Dynegy using the information below. Enrollment may take approximately 45–60 days depending on your meter read date.

How do I know which program I’m in?

Your electric aggregation program is based on your electric utility provider:

• If your electric bill is from AEP Ohio (Ohio Power), you are part of the AEP aggregation program.
• If your electric bill is from Toledo Edison, you are part of the Toledo Edison aggregation program.

The name of your utility provider is listed directly on your electric bill.

City Gas Aggregation

Residential and Commercial Natural Gas Aggregation Variable Rate is the New York Mercantile Exchange closing price times the then current Btu conversion factor plus $.233/Ccf.

The City of Fremont has teamed up with IGS Energy to provide the residents with a Natural Gas Aggregation program that will still be billed by Columbia Gas of Ohio. During the Opt-Out Period, all residents not under contract are automatically placed in the program unless they specifically request to opt-out. There is no cost for enrollment. As members of the program, residents and commercial accounts are billed the New York Mercantile Exchange closing price times the then current Btu conversion factor plus $.233/Ccf through the October 2027 billing cycle.

The IGS Energy rate will replace the Columbia Gas of Ohio “Standard Choice Offer”. The Standard Choice Offer consists of natural gas costs set by an auction.

No Cancellation Fees

As always, there are no cancellation fees for leaving the natural gas program. Notices will be sent to members of the program regarding the next term in September 2027.
