The Fremont Fire Department will be continuing the annual fire flow testing and hydrant flushing program on September 08, 2025. Each year, we conduct flushing and flow testing in approximately half of the city, beginning this year in the southeast section. The southeast section is identified as south of East State Street and East of the Sandusky River.
Fire hydrant flow testing and flushing programs are required to assure that an adequate supply of safe, quality drinking water is available for consumer use and an adequate quantity of water is available for fire protection.
Flow testing and flushing identifies specific areas of the City’s water distribution system requiring repairs and upgrades concerning water quantity and quality.
During the flow testing and flushing program, customers may experience temporary low pressure and/or discoloration of water. Customers experiencing persistent problems in regard to pressure or water discoloration may contact the Water/Sewer Maintenance department at the following number:
