The Fremont Police Department supports the initiative to wear a mask or face covering within indoor spaces and outdoors, when social distancing cannot be achieved, to help prevent the spread of COVID-19. Governor DeWine’s mandate for facial coverings impacting all of Ohio goes into effect today at 6pm.
The Governor indicated in his press conference that the mandate will be enforced by state and local officials. The Governor’s mandate is a health–related order not a criminal justice related order; therefore, the Fremont Police Department will not actively enforce this mandate.
