FREMONT, OHIO, March 12th, 2019: The City of Fremont is proud to announce a partnership between Momma’s House and Rutherford House Assisted Living.
Momma’s House is a program in which the goal is to provide and enrich the youth of Fremont with positive core values; values that will help them find their purpose. In doing so, Momma’s House will assist the youth in setting goals for present and future. Momma’s House wants to develop responsible and moral character that will assist the youth in forming building blocks for life. Most importantly, Momma’s House will teach the youth leadership and life skills that will allow them to excel in school, life, and the community. Momma’s House provides a family atmosphere with open table discussions, food, drink, fun, and fellowship. The goal is for the youth to also be able to go out and do community service projects, which is where the partnership with Rutherford House provides so much value.
Rutherford House is a premier, 39 apartment, Assisted Living community in Fremont, OH that provides compassionate, and quality care for seniors in the community. Rutherford House provides over seven levels of care and assists seniors with meals, housekeeping, laundry, nursing care, and socialization. Rutherford House prides itself in being able to offer a variety of programs to its residents, but also expounds upon the knowledge and value that the residents already possess.
The partnership with Momma’s House is going to provide the residents with intergenerational programming, allowing both parties to contribute in ways that will benefit each other and the community. Erica Ramsey, Executive Director of Rutherford House, “Our residents have so much to offer the youth of Fremont. I am thrilled at this partnership, and I look forward to not only the wonderful gift of knowledge that our residents will receive from the young people, but also the opportunity for our residents to be able to share their stories and knowledge of the Fremont community.” Mayor Sanchez expressed, “I am looking forward to our partnership, this is a great opportunity for the residents in our community to engage with one another. I am most excited that we are bringing together two amazing groups of people and that both the seniors and the youth will benefit greatly from this experience.”
Rutherford House and Momma’s House plan to offer the seniors technology classes, lead by Fremont’s young leaders, work together on gardening and planting projects, and youth sports projects. The seniors will lead cooking classes for the youth and share the history of our city.
